Children's Relief International’s mission is the share the light of Christ with the poor of our time in both Word and deed. CRI works among the bottom billion, those that live on less than $2.15 a day and/or exist on the fringes of society. And many are among the 3.2 billon unreached.
Our primary strategy for sharing the Word is via partnerships with international Christian leaders who are pursuing the same purposes, as demonstrated in their life and work. As the gospel spreads through Word and deed, an outcome of our work is the formation of new disciples, strengthening of local churches and enabling new churches to be planted.
As CRI's Word Developer, you will work with our US and International missionaries and staff to:
- Work with our International partners to encourage and strengthen existing Word ministries.

Learn – Learn about the work and context each ministry is located.
Support – Provide council, help, and resources to help our IMPs lead their people well.
Train – Train staff and those in the ministry how to best reach their people and material.
Teach – Visit our ministries and teach and Gods Word to those who have been waiting for more knowledge of God’s Word.
- Develop new Word and deed focused partnerships both locally and internationally that meet CRI’s criteria for partnership.
Engage - Identify individuals and churches with a heart for God’s Word and the poor of our time.
Foster relationships - Locally and internationally with those that have a passion for seeing God’s Word spread.
Equip and strengthen - People and churches through long-term partnership opportunities with CRI.
Disciple - Disciple and care for CRI missionaries, staff, donors and partners in the USA and around the world.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Ability to raise personal support as well as develop and manage personal ministry budget
- Uphold a close and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Experienced in sharing his/her faith with a clear, concise gospel message
- Experienced in effectively discipling new followers of Jesus
- Bible Training / Seminary Educated
- Experienced in cross-cultural ministry
- Willing to travel overseas
- Able to function in a team environment
SALARY:
Like most traditional missionary roles, this position does not offer a traditional, paid salary. We will provide support-raising training and give you a support coach to walk you through every step of the personal support-raising process.
LOCATION:
Flexible: The Word Developer can be remote. However, the position does require time at CRI’s Home Office in Rockwall, Texas, each quarter. The role also includes 2-4 overseas trips a year.
