Key roles and accountabilities


  • Leadership:
    • Ensures visible finance leadership in the country excom
    • Is a member of the country EXCOM; represents ENGIE’s finance function within the country as well as towards local external stakeholders; is the SPOC for all Finance VP GBU in AMEA
  • Organises finance processes:
    • Accountable for all finance processes to fulfil fiduciary & legal obligations at country level; responsible for integrity of local statutory and IFRS accounts; signs off on management accounts and representation letters
    • Drives optimizations in finance processes; Prepares for the GET-project to be rolled out in the country
    • Organizes monthly reporting processes.
    • Is in charge of all country monthly/quarterly closing processes and all forecast processes
    • Organizes country budget process.
    • Implements and executes efficient finance processes & tools, associated governance & organization, in compliance with Function guidance, to deliver best-in-class services and lead local aspects of group transformation projects
  • Drives performance improvements:
    • Implements G&A spending monitoring, drives G&A improvement plans
    • Manages cash and drives cash improvement plans
  • Attends the local project InvCo’s and ensures all local finance specificities are well taken into account
  • “One ENGIE”:
    • Ensures a “One Engie” perspective in the country strategy and the country portfolio
    • Protects the value creation at ENGIE level and arbitrates between GBUs when is needed to avoid inefficiencies or value destruction
  • Internal control and risks:
    • Supports identification and quantification of country risks; is accountable for producing the country risk mapping & the country risk mandate, organizing and leading of the Local Energy Management Committee (LEMC); is responsible for insurance activities notably re. asset management
    • Is accountable for the implementation of an internal control (IC) system in the country and signs off Country IC Attestation Letter (Finance scope)
    • Implements thorough controls to address ethical risks and risk of fraud
  • Manages the finance team:
    • Heads the finance teams in the country.
    • Manages the country finance team (daily management, succession and development plans)

Required qualifications

EXPERIENCE/DIPLOMA


  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines
  • At least 10 years' experience in the power industry in finance roles. Proven leadership and management experience is essential.

SKILLS/SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE


  • Demonstrated ability to deal with complex situations requiring the assessment of priorities under pressure.
  • Ability to manage the P&L of a business entity
  • Demonstrable knowledge in corporate governance, asset oversight, and financial advisory.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and punctual heavy workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the executive presence to work with senior management, investors, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication and reporting capability.
  • Self-directing, ability to coordinate and direct others.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams, as well as engage with staff at all levels of the organisation and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a broad cultural spectrum.
  • Executive communication, problem solving abilities and ability to influence outcomes
  • prior experiences in CFO roles

SPECIFIC BUSINESS UNDERSTANDING


  • Experienced in managing/dealing with commercial, accounting, and regulatory team members.
