An entry level course including practical guidance in the setup and use of audio and electronic equipment, and in learning to write and perform music using commercial, open source and DIY audio tools with the computer. Designed to be useful to students regardless of literacy in music reading and notation.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate must possess a MFA, PhD, MMus, or equivalent degree, or significant, equivalent; Experience working professionally with Audio; Experience teaching at a University level in the subject area is required; Experience teaching and/or developing a course around sound /aural/music AND various software is required. Evidence of expert knowledge of creative technologies hardware, and software relevant to the class as it has been previously taught is essential (such as Adobe Creative Cloud Suite programs or equivalent, Ableton Live software or equivalent). Experience managing classroom technologies for teaching; Evidence of awareness of key issues/critical theory in audio for creative technologies; Must provide a sample syllabus relevant to the course description.
NOTE: This course will be offered by remote delivery only.
All applicants are required to provide details outlining how they will facilitate curriculum and pedagogy in a remote modality. Applicants are also required to provide details of their familiarity with Moodle (or other Online Learning Environment), and Zoom, both of which are required in the delivery of this course.
