Key Responsibilities:

Primary objective of position

  • Strategically drives total profitable revenue and market share growth for assigned country/region/clusters of hotels
  • Leads and coaches the Sales Club Team Benelux directly, to ensure that all opportunities (all segments) for country, area and global are optimized from, to and within the region

Team leadership

  • Utilizes leadership skills and motivation to maximize employee productivity
  • Trains the sales team staff appropriately and proactively
  • Encourages, develops and manages effective employee relations within department and beyond
  • Identifies employees with potential for promotion and/or transfer and makes appropriate development plans for him or her together with the Human Resources Manager
  • Screens, interviews and selects potential sales team candidates
  • Looks for ways to motivate and challenge employees
  • Ensures that staff meets and exceeds client expectations by training and inspiring them to provide Yes I Can! Service
  • Ensures team member acts as an ambassador of RHG, becoming an acknowledged expert on market and customer issues within the territory to all Radisson Hospitality entities
  • Executes meetings to review the performance of the sales staff

Sales strategy and delivery

  • Analysis of market in the assigned country to facilitate penetration for increased national & international production to meet ever-increasing demands reflected in the change & growth of the company
  • Understands the needs of each hotel within the country in order to develop and implement and oversee sales strategies to meet their needs
  • Creates and implements initiatives for all assigned hotels that will deliver increase the REVPAR (focus on profitable revenue) and food, drink and meetings revenues (focus on profitable revenue)
  • Produces, implements, manages, controls country sales activity plan and country sales budget plan within budgetary guidelines in order to ensure the Revenue Plan objectives are achieved
  • Conducts regular strategic meetings with the Regional Director / District Director (Operations) and Area Sales Director to set objectives, ensure action plans are in place for the country and review performance of hotel and cluster sales teams
  • Designs and implements stretching sales plans domestic, outbound to other areas and inbound from other areas

Requirements:

  • 3 years of managing and developing a sales team and 7 years’ experience within the hospitality industry
  • Desirable university graduate qualification or apprenticeship in hotel industry
  • Strong communication skills; fluent in local language (French, Dutch) and English
  • Proven experience in sales with excellent problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent managerial skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style
  • Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry
  • Ability to find creative solutions, offering advice and recommendations
  • Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy
  • Experienced in using IT systems on various platforms
  • Strong communication skills
