Job Description


The School of Environment and Science is a foundation School of Griffith University within the Sciences Group offering innovative and quality science education. We offer a wide range of pioneering degree programs for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies including Environmental Science, Marine Science, Forensic Science, Biomedical Science, Medical Science (pre-medicine program) as well as a comprehensive Bachelor of Science.

The School is currently looking for a Graduate Technical Officer to support undergraduate teaching in the School’s Gold Coast teaching laboratories.

As a member of the Gold Coast technical team, the Graduate Technical Officer will learn practical and analytical techniques, scientific application, and laboratory and field work practices. While the position will be primarily supporting teaching activities, there is potential for expansion into community engagement and research support as you become more experienced in the role.

The role also includes the upkeep of laboratory documentation, risk assessing work practices and processes, and scientific document writing.

What we can offer
This is a fixed term (36 months), full time position and based on the Gold Coast campus.

The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 5 range $74,016 - $83,033 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $86,599 - $97,149 per annum.


Qualifications


To be successful in the role, you will have highly developed communication, interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills. You must have completed your degree within the past 12 months in a relevant field and hold a current C class drivers licence. The ideal candidate will also have a strong desire to support health and safety initiatives.
