About the Group:

Technology Acceleration and Commercialization organization focuses on growing our battery technology reach and access globally in all battery tech segments to ensure GM is in a leading position in chemistry and cell design through investment, collaborations, and partnerships.

Within this group, TRP Diagnostics and Prognostics – ALGOLiON focus is developing and releasing the Earliest warning battery hazard detection and prevention software . The group uses ALGOLiON (formerly Israel-based battery software startup and today integral part of GM-Israel) novel algorithms which take data streams from battery management systems to identify anomalies in battery cell performance that may impact the performance of a battery pack.

About the role:

We are looking for a team leader for development and release of Aqua novel algorithms for battery hazard detection and prevention. The role requires not only improvement of the exiting algorithms but also development of data pipeline for creating data driven solutions along with conventional electro-chemistry-based solutions.

Besides developing classical algorithms (based on Electro Chemistry), the team Leader manages a team of employees who design, build, and implement end-to-end machine learning pipelines accounting for the variability in data sources and collection policies, data analysis and feature extraction methodologies, modeling frameworks and serving infrastructure. An ML engineer exists at the intersection between science, development, and compute infrastructure.

What will you do:

Responsible for algorithms development, data processing, data management, and databases design by running team of experts in field of algorithms and data science. The team leader is in charge of releasing these algorithms to gm product line!

The team leader manages the team who:

  • Develops electro-chemistry-based algorithms for detecting battery hazards.
  • Develops database solutions to interpret and analyze battery related information.
  • Analyzes and test new software and its applications.
  • Analyzes and report on requirements for new software technology.
  • Assists in analyzing customer and company test data, including writing reports.
  • Assists in writing and editing software manuals.

Work with global teams (Mostly Israel and USA) for achieving results.

Keep safety a priority and improve safety of GM electric vehicles in the field of electric batteries.

Additional Job Description

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. Computer Science, electrical engineering, Electro-Chemical engineering or similar.
  • M.Sc. advantage. PhD advantage.
  • People leader
  • Algorithms development background.
  • Data science and data analytics background.
  • Over 8 years industry experience in algorithms and data processing.
  • Experience with Automotive field and global companies – advantage.
  • Self-Fast-Learner, Responsible, Great communicational skills, team player, and details-driven character.
  • Excellent English skill both written and verbally
